Who We Are

Our Story

Acknowledge Wellness LLC was created by Carolyn Egan and began from an inner desire to offer affordable and accessible methods of holistic healthcare as a way to pay it forward from the support they received from their mentor in Beijing, China, Dr. Gao (who is a Chinese Medicine Doctor) in navigating fibromyalgia and recovering from three concussions.

The pillars of Acknowledge Wellness are herbs, medicine and community. Below are the ways we incorporate these pillars into our offerings:

  • 1:1 herbal and food therapy consults in-person at Restorative Healthcare, via telehealth and house visits.

  • Products in our Apothecary - herbal tea blends, skincare products, seasonal offerings and digital downloads that weave both Chinese and Irish Traditional Medicine.

  • Writings - herbal and food therapy support, traditional medical history, using ritual as a medicine practice and seasonal wellness

  • Collaborations - we love collaborating with other creators, farmers and wellness practitioners to weave our shared knowledge with others.

  • Workshops and Tea Salons - coming soon

  • Circular Business Model - All of our offerings reflect upon the idea that every aspect of our business runs from the cycles of reciprocity, whether that is experiencing an herbal consult, purchasing products in our online shop that also directly supports our business and small batch farmers and family farms, it is all with the intention that we're taking care of each other.

  • Community Giveback - 5% of our herbal product sales is allocated to supporting Off-The-Grid Missions (OTG) is a global humanitarian aid organization filling the gap in disaster-response by providing Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people with critical life-saving resources in high-risk and disaster-stricken regions around the world.

    • Scholarship funding for those within the disabled and chronically ill community.

Meet the Creator

Carolyn Egan

Carolyn Egan (she/they) is a Chinese Medicine Practitioner, herbalist and ritualist who weaves her knowledge of Chinese Medicine with their background in social work, education, linguistics and Irish traditional practices in working with patients 1:1 for herbal and food therapy consultations, family consults, product creation, community organizing and their writing. Along with this, they also incorporate their lived experience of navigating fibromyalgia with disability justice to offer accessible forms of healthcare for the disabled and chronically ill community through offering sliding scale, payment plan and scholarship options for the patients they work with.

She seeks to create accessible offerings both online and in-person so that many can learn about how traditional medicines can support our entire well-being from the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of our health and understanding that they are all intertwined in how we relate to ourselves, each other and the earth.

Many of the conditions that they regularly see as a clinician include reproductive health, neurology, fibromyalgia, internal medicine, seasonal wellness, pediatrics, long covid and other post-viral infections. They see patients at Restorative Healthcare, via telehealth and does offer house visits upon request and pending availability.

The products that she creates in their online shop range from physical products to online offerings. These include tea blends for general wellness, skincare products, ceremonial moon waters, seasonal and emotional wellness kits, DIY herbal preparations, community offerings and collaborative offerings to build ritual practices into your life (Drumming and Tea Meditations and Tea and Tarot).

Grief Support Kits

Description:

Tending and tuning into our emotions allows us to connect with the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of ourselves. This tending takes time to cultivate, understand and learn its language in order to create moe space and compassion for ourselves to integrate into our lives.

This emotional wellness kit centers around supporting the process of tending to grief. Each kit comes with a grief support oil to be used topically, a grief support tea to be used internally, a pdf guide of some background information on each formula and ways you can use the oil and tea in ritual as well as two guided meditations (one for the oil and the other for the tea). If you prefer to just do the guided meditations for the oil and tea, that also is an option as well.

Community Offerings

Description: Our community offerings are free recorded  visualization meditations that focus on journeying with a particular herb to deepen your understanding of how you personally relate with that herb. Each of the recordings include captions and are available for anyone who is interested in creating relationships with herbs in an intuitive sense.

We also offer sea meditations which are various lengths of recordings of the sea as a way to help with tending to our personal stories of grief. Grief tending is a personal practice of looking at how grief shows up in our lives. The sea can provide a supportive experience in understanding our grief and the recordings are taken at different beaches around the Puget Sound so for those who may not be able to access the sea can do so in the comfort of their homes. You can click on the picture to the left and it will take you to the sea meditations.

Herbal Bath Ritual Consultations

Description: In this two-part collaboration with Shengyin who is an integration coach, in the first session with Carolyn, we create an herbal bath ritual together to help assist in navigating through any form of transition. A special herbal blend is prepared for you to do your herbal bath ritual. Once the ritual is completed, you will have an integration session with Shengyin to support further processing of what happened within the framework of the herbal bath ritual so you can integrate your experience in order to incorporate and weave it into your life.
